Several years ago you were instrumental in helping my fiancé, a Disabled Navy Veteran, and myself when we were unable to find suitable housing, during COVID. I don’t know if you remember us, but I wanted to write you and give you an update on our situation.
Because of your generous help, she and I were finally able to get our credit to a point where we were able to be approved for a lease on an apartment on Long Island. Thankfully this was in the same school district as my two children. My oldest son has since graduated and shipped off to Army boot camp yesterday. We are both very proud of him. My youngest is in 9th grade and doing great!
I myself got sick in 2023 and had to have open heart surgery, my spleen removed and several other smaller operations. I was recovering for just under a year, when I had further complications, in the middle of last summer and had to have another open heart surgery in the city and a pacemaker implanted.
Both she and I are currently doing well and have never forgotten how fortunate we were to be connected with your wonderful organization and incredible kindness. We would not have been able to get out of the situation we were in at the time and facilitate acquiring the housing we did, in the appropriate school district, without your help.
We are finally starting to get back to a stable place and we wanted to let you know what a difference your organization made in all of our lives. We look forward to donating to LICC in the near future and hope that you may continue to bless others with the help they need. We are forever grateful for everything you have done for us and will continue to maintain contact with you.
